Hello, have you ever been to Poland? A beautiful country located in Europe. This country is not too big, but there are many good things to explore. Instead of that, there are cool facts that actually Indonesia is having 5 similarities with Poland. What are the similarities? Here are the details:
1. Many Historical Tourist Destinations
First similarity between these two countries is many historical tourist attractions. As we know, there are many historical tourist objects in Indonesia whether it is museum or non-museum. Those are Lawang Sewu (Semarang), Gereja Blenduk (Semarang),National Museum (Jakarta), Old City (Jakarta) and many other places. Those places are some of famous historical tourist destinations in Indonesia. You can find many historical stories and things easily there.
Apparently, Poland also has many historical places that are famous tourist spots! Some of them are Royal Castel (Warsaw), St. Mary's Basilica (Kraków), Auschwitz (Oświęcim), Bialowieża Forest (eastern border of Poland and western Belarus) and many other places. In those places, you also can explore many historical things in Poland. One of famous place is Auschwitz, a museum where it was Nazi’s largest concentration camp and extermination. The place is dark and a bit scary, but it has already managed well for tourism. Here are the pictures that taken by my friend:
2. Price
The prices both in Indonesia and Poland are not significantly different. Buying things in Poland can be categorized as affordable compare with other European country. Since, the currency value between IDR and PLN is not that difference. 1 PLN is approximately 4 thousand IDR. That is the reason why price in Poland is quite same with Indonesia. Even, the buying food or things in Singapore is higher than in Poland. So, it can be one of benefit if you want to have affordable trip to Europe.
3. Public Transportation
Transportation in Poland and Indonesia are similar, you can use bus or train when travel from one place to another places. Instead of that, there are some others transportation that people can use, but both bus and train are the most famous public transportation. There are many kind of train services in Poland that can be used. There are different price for each service, but if you travel for several days, I highly suggested you to use train travel pass. More information about the detail price and schedule of train and bus in Poland you can visit https://interrail.net/.
While in Indonesia, you can use casual train to move from one city to another city or from province to another province. There are many services from economic and until super premium train than can be found in https://www.kai.id/ . In the other hand, if you want to commute from one place to another place in the same city or very near city around Jakarta, you can use KRL here is the full info about it http://www.krl.co.id/ . At last but not least, you also can use Trans Jakarta to commute (it is like public bus). Some of them are required you to pay, but there are double deck buses which are provided free with free tour guide that are ready to bring you from one tourism object to other attraction.
4. Food
If you go to Poland or Indonesia, you will find many delicious foods which are actually almost similar. Even though, it is not 100% identic. What are they? Here are the lists:
Nasi Kuning and Opor Ayam

It is actually not Poland food, but we can find it there. The taste of course a bit different with the one in Indonesia, but at least you can find Nasi or Rice as well as Opor in Poland.
Polish Dumplings

If you are Indonesian, I do believe that you will notice that it is similar with one of Indonesian food. It is called as Polish Dumplings, well actually it is similar with Siomay in Indonesia.
Sour Soup

Sour Soup in Poland is surrounded by bread. This is actually also similar with Indonesian Sour Soup or Garang Asem. The difference, Garang Asem is not served with bread, but rice.
5. People
The last similarity that we can find both in Poland and Indonesia is people. According to my friend experience and I read several travel blog, all of the said that Polish are good and friendly. The same thing with Indonesians, most of them are friendly and kind. You do not need to worry or afraid when ask something to them, even though you are a stranger, they are very welcome.
